Founded by the French in 1702, Mobile, Alabama, is one of the Gulf Coast’s major cultural hubs and we will explore its rich history during our two night stay.  Explore along the pedestrian-friendly Dauphin Street Entertainment District – the vibrant, historic heart of downtown Mobile, renowned for its 19th-century architecture, diverse dining and retail options. The 2027 Gulf Coast Lantern Festival at Bellingrath Gardens is a highlight of this getaway!  Stroll through a glowing wonderland in the gardens and immerse yourself in the vibrant and colorful celebration of Gulf Coast culture with 40 dazzling handcrafted light sculptures that transform the landscape into a vivid world of color.   Inspired by traditional Chinese lantern artistry and brought to life with modern design, dazzling plants, animals, and imaginative creatures illuminate every path.  Interactive displays invite you to move, play, and step into the experience. When it was built in 1855, the Greek Revival style house was the center of the lively social life of the thriving cotton port of Mobile. Today, the home stands out as one of the most beautifully restored historic mansions on the coast. Mobile is the birthplace of Mardi Gras celebrations in the USA!  Visit the Mobile Carnival Museum that chronicles over 300 years of Carnival and Mardi Gras in Mobile and discover the art of costume design and float construction.  See the intricate designs and artistry of majestic crowns, scepters, and robes of Mardi Gras monarchs.   Come aboard the Perido Queen Riverboat for a delightful evening dinner cruise on Mobile Bay, and visit USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park, home to the WWII battleship USS Alabama and submarine USS Drum, both National Historic Landmarks. This majestic Carillon plays 30-minute bell concerts. Step back in time and crank up the nostalgia with North Georgia Jukebox Revue – a high-energy musical rewind through the unforgettable sounds of the 1950s and 60s! Chattanooga Christmas Getaway
