Chesapeake Bay & Virginia International Military “Tattoo” Performances
Annapolis, Maryland is located at the confluence of the Severn River and Chesapeake Bay and is known as one of America’s prettiest and most walkable towns. Explore local shops and restaurants from historic Main Street to the Wharf. The United States Naval Academy was established in Annapolis in 1845. Enjoy an afternoon narrated cruise and sail by the beautiful waterfront campus. Assateague Island is a 37-mile long barrier island located off the eastern coast of the Delmarva Peninsula facing the Atlantic Ocean. We will make a stop along our journey to visit Assateague Island to learn about this protected area that is vital for resting and feeding migratory shorebirds and serves as home to about 300 wild ponies that wander the beaches, inland pine forest, and salt marshes of the Island. We will take a cruise with local Guides to remote areas of Assateague Island as we go in search of the Wild Assateague Ponies! A tour highlight is the ceremonial performances of military music by massed bands at the 2025 Virginia International Tattoo! We make our way to Scope Arena in Norfolk, VA to enjoy this amazing patriotic show. The incredible international cast features more than 800 performers – with bands and drill teams from the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps joined by civilian and military performers from 7 nations. Favorites include Switzerland’s Top Secret Drum Corps and the Netherlands Royal Marine Band. Alaska’s Northern Lights – Discover the Aurora Borealis
It is predicted that fall through early spring of 2025 will bring the Best Northern Lights in 20 Years, and Daniel’s is heading to Alaska to chase the Aurora Borealis! Alaska is one of the best places on earth to see the Northern Lights. When the conditions are right, colorful bands of light in shades of green, yellow, white and purple dance in the dark night sky and this natural phenomenon is an unforgettable experience. Join Daniel’s as we start our Aurora journey in Fairbanks, located directly under the Auroral Oval where the strongest occurrence of the Northern Lights can be found. We will explore the highlights of the city to include the incredible hand-carved ice sculptures that are the talk of the town. Then we make our way to the remote areas away from town where the darkest nights provide the best opportunity for Aurora views. Spend 2 nights at Chena Hot Springs where you can enjoy optional winter activities such as visiting a working husky kennel, dog sledding, snowmobiling and ice fishing. Visit the Aurora Ice Museum – created from over 1,000 tons of ice and snow. Take a soak in the Hot Springs as you watch the Aurora dance overhead or hang out indoors at the viewing center with other Aurora chasers each night to share the excitement of waiting for the Northern Lights to appear! All Aboard the Adventure Class Aurora Winter Train from Fairbanks to Talkeetna for a once in a lifetime experience crossing the quiet serenity of pristine snow along the train tracks. Enjoy the winter wonderland of Alaska’s backcountry from the comfort of a warm railcar, complete with comfortable seats and large picture windows. On a clear day, a spectacular view of Denali rises into view above the Susitna River. And anywhere along the tracks, a watchful eye may be rewarded with the sight of a moose in the wild. Arrive by train into Talkeetna for a 2-night stay at the beautiful Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge with views of North America’s tallest mountain – Denali. Warm up by the giant river rock fireplace or visit the charming downtown Talkeetna area, and if the Aurora makes an appearance you will get a wake-up call so you don’t miss it! SPRING FLING TOUR – Holland Tulip Festival, Churchill Downs & Indiana Amish Tour
WELKOM to TULIP TIME in Holland, MI – heralded as the nation’s Best Flower Festival with over 5 million tulips blooming throughout the city. We will take you right to the heart of the festivities celebrating the town’s Dutch Heritage with the Klompen Dancers in traditional Dutch wear, incredible fields of blooming Tulip Gardens, and the DeKlomp Wooden Shoe & Delft Factory with acres of beautiful blooms and artists that hand carve wooden shoes or hand-paint blue and white delftware. Another Michigan highlight is one of the Great Lakes – LAKE MICHIGAN – with a vast array of impressive freshwater coastal sand dunes thanks to the westerly winds that blow the sand into massive dune formations. Outer Banks
This tour is a Daniel’s favorite! Enjoy a 3-night stay at an oceanfront hotel in Kittyhawk, NC and explore the barrier islands known as the Outer Banks (OBX). See historic lighthouses including Currituck Beach Light station and Bodie Island Lighthouse. One of the most unique experiences on the Outer Banks is a ride on a 4×4 Hummer to see the Wild Spanish Mustangs as they roam free along the beach near Corolla – the natural habitat they have occupied for centuries. Explore along the pristine Cape Hatteras National Seashore ending at Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, the tallest in the U.S. Visit Kitty Hawk and the Wright Monument at Kill Devil Hills. During your visit you can walk to the First Flight Boulder and Flight Line which mark the location where the Wright Brothers first flew. It is amazing to stand at that very spot! Visit the Elizabethan Gardens and learn about The Lost Colony – one of America’s oldest unsolved mysteries – what happened to the early settlers that vanished nearly 450 years ago? Visit Roanoke Island Festival Park where you will see costumed interpreters throughout the replica of England’s first settlement in the New World. Climb aboard the Elizabeth II, a 69-foot sailing vessel representative of those which sailed to the New World in 1585.
