Mackinac Island

Mackinac Island has been named the Best Summer Travel Destination by USA TODAY.  No wonder this is a TOP DANIEL’S TOUR! Mackinac Island sits in Lake Huron, between Michigan’s Upper and Lower peninsulas. Motorized vehicles are not allowed on the island, so we park our Motorcoach on the mainland and travel by ferry to the island. Horse and carriage then become our mode of transportation during our 2-night stay at the beautiful historic lakefront hotel, The Island House, built in the mid-19th century. The island is also known for its abundance of lilac trees. See and smell the lilacs in bloom during the 77th Annual Lilac Festival! Enjoy a horse drawn carriage tour of the island, stroll the quaint downtown famous for its fine fudge, and visit the famous Grand Hotel where the movie “Somewhere in Time” was filmed.
