PCH highlights include Morro Bay, a large bay and estuary; Cambria, San Simeon, Prismo Beach, and a stop at the Piedras Blancas Friends of the Elephant Seal rookery, where colonies of the seals rest, mate and fight for dominance.  The crown jewel of the PCH is Big Sur with its rugged mountains and redwood forests drop into the coastline.  Spend 2 nights in Monterey in a 4-Star hotel near Old Fisherman’s Wharf and drive along the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, the famous scenic 17-Mile Drive through Pebble Beach and Pacific Grove,  including the Lone Cypress and Bird Rock.  Spend 3 nights in San Francisco at a 4 Star Boutique hotel in the illustrious Nob Hill neighborhood as we explore the City by the Bay from the Golden Gate Bridge to  Alcatraz and Sausalito up to Napa Valley to visit a winery and taste their famous wines.  Enjoy a visit to Muir Woods National Monument to walk amongst the old growth coast Redwoods. Glacier, Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks

Stop at the Continental Divide then head down into the cirques of the St. Mary Valley.  Sail across the pristine emerald-hued waters of Lake McDonald aboard the historic DeSmet, built in 1930, see the tranquil forest, stunning mountain vistas, and the awe-inspiring beauty of the park’s west side from the Lake.  Enjoy free time in the quaint town of Whitefish, MT and take an optional scenic float trip in Glacier National Park.  This tour takes you to some of the best scenery in the West! Discover Alaska

This Alaska adventure begins in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada with its North Shore Mountains and the rich, blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. We will explore Vancouver together before we board the beautiful Norwegian Jade Cruise Ship for an unforgettable 7-Night cruise into The Last Frontier. Get ready for amazing views and wildlife like nowhere else as you sail through the islands of Alaska’s Inside Passage. Ketchikan is surrounded by some of the world’s most lush wilderness thanks to its abundant rainfall.  Juneau has been called “Alaska’s peak experience,” certainly due in part to its unparalleled glacier viewing. The majestic Mendenhall Glacier lies only 12 miles outside Juneau. Step back in time to Skagway. In a single year from 1896 to 1897, this remote town along the Inside Passage grew from a few tents to a city of 20,000 gold seekers. Today, travelers come to experience yesteryear along Skagway’s charming boardwalk lined with buildings that replicate those Gold Rush days. Venture into Icy Straight Point, the ideal landing spot for getting to where the wild things are. It’s one of the few places in the world where wildlife outnumbers the human population and there are many optional excursions that will help you enjoy the awe-inspiring scenery and the abundant wildlife. The Hubbard Glacier is the largest tidewater glacier in North America.  At nearly six miles wide where the ice meets the ocean and 76 miles long, viewing this massive glacial mass from the cruise ship is an experience not soon forgotten! As you cruise near the glacier, keep an eye out for the region’s rich variety of wildlife, from bald eagles to harbor seals, orcas and humpback whales. Although situated only approximately 60 miles from Anchorage, Whittier feels a world away. The cruise ends in this small, secluded town that is nestled between soaring mountain peaks and Prince William Sound. Depart Whittier by Motorcoach through its one-way tunnel and drive past several “hanging” glaciers gracing the encircling mountains. We will stop for a view of Portage Glacier before making our way to the Seward Highway as it hugs the dramatic shorelines of Turnagain Arm, arguably one of the most beautiful stretches of highway in America! Nova Scotia, Cape Breton Island & Acadia National Park

Road Trip to the Dakotas

South Dakota is expansive where rolling prairies give way to the dramatic Black Hills National Forest. See the colorful cliffs and canyons at Badlands National Park, explore from the prairies to the mountains at Custer State Park and learn all about their famous bison herd. Mt. Rushmore is a tour highlight! See the amazing carving of Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt and Lincoln on the side of the mountain. Visit the Crazy Horse Memorial – the towering mountainside sculpture of the famous Indian Chief. Other South Dakota highlights include the Ft. Hays Western Dinner Show including sets from the movie “Dances with Wolves”, spend 2 nights in Rapid City, visit Deadwood, drive-thru Sturgis, see Sioux Falls, the Statue “Dignity”, Wall Drug and the Corn Palace.  North Dakota is dominated by the Great Plains that give way to the rugged Badlands near the border with Montana where Theodore Roosevelt National Park sits.  Drive along the South Loop road inside the park that winds through the hills and buttes through the ND Badlands.  Watch for wildlife such as elk, coyotes & prairie dogs.  A herd of approximately 300 American bison and a historic demonstration herd of feral horses also call the Park home. We overnight near Medora, ND and experience some of the best dining in the West at Pitchfork Fondue – cowboy chefs expertly load New York Strip steaks onto pitchforks to cook!  Get into the Western spirit at the Medora Musical – a fun & entertaining Country Western Music Revue Show.  The Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center has engaging exhibits, hundreds of period artifacts, world-class art collections and friendly interpreters who tell the story of the Lewis and Clark Expedition that traversed North Dakota.  The North American Bison Discovery Center in Jamestown, ND is the number one resource for all things related to the restoration of the American bison.  Learn about the animal’s natural history, cultural significance, ecological impact, and view the herds in the pastures.  We will even make a stop to see the ND roadside attraction – the World’s Largest Buffalo Monument standing 26 feet tall! Mackinac Island

Mackinac Island has been named the Best Summer Travel Destination by USA TODAY.  No wonder this is a TOP DANIEL’S TOUR! Mackinac Island sits in Lake Huron, between Michigan’s Upper and Lower peninsulas. Motorized vehicles are not allowed on the island, so we park our Motorcoach on the mainland and travel by ferry to the island. Horse and carriage then become our mode of transportation during our 2-night stay at the beautiful historic lakefront hotel, The Island House, built in the mid-19th century.
