Enjoy lunch during your visit to the Von Trapp Family Lodge, the Austrian-style lodge nestled among the Green Mountains is still owned and operated by the family featured in the Sound of Music. Visit a local Cider Mill where you can watch the fresh apples milled into cider, and visit a fascinating Champlain Valley Maple Sugar House to learn how Vermont syrup is harvested. Set sail on a lovely Lake Champlain Harvest Moon Dinner Cruise, and sit back and relax while you enjoy the view through the tall windows of the motorcoach on a drive along scenic Kancamagus Highway, a National Scenic Byway that winds through New Hampshire and the spectacular White Mountains National Forest – known as one of the top Fall Foliage drives in the USA! Spend 3 nights in a comfortable modern suite in mid-coast Maine so you can spend the days getting acquainted with Maine’s rocky coast, its maritime history, lighthouses, and of course – Lobster! Visit Bath, ME – full of maritime history along the Kennebec River, and Boothbay Harbor, ME – the boating capital of Maine where you will take a Harbor Cruise and explore the quaint coastal town. Visit the quaint shops of Kennebunkport and see Portland, ME as you travel to Cape Elizabeth and Casco Bay to visit Portland Head Light – Completed in 1791, it is the oldest lighthouse in Maine. Visit the beautiful coastal town of Bar Harbor, Maine and Acadia National Park with a drive to the top of Cadillac Mountain! Visit the beautiful coastal city of Newport, Rhode Island where America’s wealthiest families spent their summers during the Gilded Age. Today, more than a dozen prestigious properties have been preserved, tour inside one of those magnificent, opulent mansions. Visit the beautiful Berkshire Mountains with a stop at the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, MA – his hometown.
